The Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Materials Science certifies that you have a broad knowledge of applications and methods based on the natural sciences. This knowledge and the practical skills that you can demonstrate with the B.Sc. degree are in demand in many areas and therefore also offer you many opportunities for further professional orientation.
If you are already drawn to industry after completing your bachelor’s degree, you will find fields of activity in research and development, resource management, materials testing and the assessment of damage cases. Testing organizations such as TÜV are constantly looking for graduates in this field.
If you would like to deepen your academic education even further, you can also complete your master’s degree, for example at the Ruhr University Bochum in the master’s program Materials Science and Simulation or in the master’s program Mechanical Engineering. After that, you will have further opportunities for jobs in industry with project and personnel responsibility. Or you may decide to go even deeper into research and earn a doctorate, which will qualify you for even more promising careers in industry, at the university, at research institutes and government agencies.
