What will you learn with us?

After graduating in materials science, you will be able to contribute to the development of new materials, design and apply test methods and plan production processes.

In detail …

• you understand the relationship between atomic structure, chemical composition, microstructure and properties of the main classes of materials,
• you know the most important (theoretical) models of physical and mechanical properties of materials,
• you know important manufacturing processes of technical materials,
• you can handle experimental infrastructure and plan and perform laboratory tests (metallography, microscopy, mechanical testing, heat treatment, chemical analyses, metrology),
• be able to use industry-relevant software packages (finite elements, thermodynamics and kinetics, atomistics) to solve materials science problems,
• you can independently write programs in a higher programming language to solve simple tasks from Material Science,
• you can acquire and process material data and apply machine learning methods,
• you can understand and write technical texts in English,
• you can present Material Science content in front of an audience.
